Sign up as an affiliate for a downloadable digital product (that pays 50% or more commission) and put up a free web page promoting that product. Just go to http://www.clickbank.com/ and sign up as an affiliate, then find a product which you think you can sell. That shouldn’t take long!

After that, you want to put up a web page promoting this product. Wordpress.com, Squidoo.com, and hubpages.com are all websites where you can easily build a free web page. Write some copy promoting the product, or just copy it from the sales page of your chosen product itself. Tell your readers that they should follow “this link” to get more information and that you highly recommend it. (”This link” being your affiliate link.)

Now you are in business! Anyone who comes to your web page and then clicks your link and buys will generate a commission for you. How long did it take to set this up? Maybe 30 minutes. What did it cost you? Nothing!

Now let’s break this step down in a little more detail in case you didn’t quite get it.

When browsing the Clickbank marketplace, you will see the more popular products at the head of the different categories. The reason they become so popular is because they sell! These are the better-converting sales pages.

So you want one near the top of it’s category. But you should also do some key-word research before choosing a product to promote. You want to see what people on the internet are searching for! Use the free key word search tool at nichebot, here:

The results are per day - that is, how many people are searching per day on the internet for whatever search phrase you enter. Punch in a more general term and you will see other variations of the search term displayed. These are known as “long-tail” key words.

For example, if you enter juggling you will see that term gets 474 searches per day, and then you will see that juggling equipment gets 47 searches per day, and juggling for beginners gets 21 searches per day. Isn’t this cool? You know what people are searching for on the internet! And that knowledge can make a smart marketer rich my friend - if you know what to do with it.

Choose a good long-tail key word to target, as they are much easier to conquer in the search engine results. So in this example, if you are going to sell a Clickbank ebook about how to juggle, then juggling for beginners makes a great keyword to target. Set up a free webpage at wordpress.com or squidoo.com with the same title as your targeted search term - in this case, “Juggling for Beginners.”
