As many of you know, I am of big fan of using wikiHow for bum marketing purposes. There are a few ways to do this, but only one right way really. In case you are not familiar with wikiHow, it’s a huge How to Article database, featuring articles on how to do just about anything you can think of. The articles are written by anybody who cares to stop by the site and write one, and they are also edited by anybody who cares to stop by and edit them.

At first glance that wouldn’t be too exciting. Maybe stop by and edit a few relevant articles to include your link, for as long as they last before somebody else stops by and deletes your link. But that’s not the way it works. There are staff editors who keep spam links from being added and articles from being vandalized. This actually works in your favor if you use the site right, as the camp guards will help keep your links from being deleted.

The right way to use the site is to publish your own "how to" articles on your subject. This is incredibly easy to do with the article building interface that they give you, which keeps all articles on the site conforming to their desired format. Include a link to your site in the Sources and Citations section. This does take some tact, as obvious advertising links are removed by the staff editors.
